FAQ

What is the Nice Classification?

It is an international system that sorts goods and services into 45 classes: classes 1 to 34 for goods and classes 35 to 45 for services. A trademark application lists its goods and services and names the class of each. The classification is revised every year; this finder uses the 13th edition (NCL 13-2026).

How do I use the trademark class finder?

Type a product or service in plain words, such as “bread knife” or “online retail store services”. The finder shows the class it belongs to and, where it can, the matching item of the Turkish list. Add the results you need to “My selection” and copy the summary for your records or for your trademark attorney.

Why does a term appear in more than one class?

Some words name different goods or services depending on their material, purpose or form; bags, for example, can be luggage or packaging. The finder shows every class a term appears in and lets you choose the one that fits your goods or services.

What if the finder does not find my product?

Try a more general word, check the spelling or browse the 45 classes. If you still cannot place it, contact us and we will check the classification with you.

Is my search sent anywhere?

No. The search runs in your browser on a term list loaded from this website. Your search is not sent to us or to any other service.

Is this legal advice?

ARNO IP is not a law firm. Filings before the Office are made by the registered Turkish trademark attorney office we work with. This tool is general information, not legal advice.
